Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully, as these will be adhered to when you sign your contract with Thirsk Lodge Barns.

Definitions

Barn Hire Fee’ – total amount for the hire of Thirsk Lodge Barns, Newsham Road, Thirsk, YO7 4DB on the Confirmed Barn Hire Date.
Confirmed Barn Hire Date‘ – the date that Thirsk Lodge Barns, Newsham Road, Thirsk, YO7 4DB has been booked for by the Confirmed Hirer(s).
‘Venue’ – Thirsk Lodge Barns, Newsham Road, Thirsk, YO7 4DB
You / Your / Confirmed Hirer(s) / Hirer(s)‘ – People whose names are listed as the Confirmed Hirer(s).
‘We / Us / The Team / Staff, / TPK / The Peckish Kitchen Ltd. – The Peckish Kitchen Ltd, The Peckish Kitchen, Peckish

‘Barn Hire Booking Fee’ – a non-refundable payment of 25% of the Barn Hire Fee.
‘Planning Meeting’ – A meeting held with an Event Coordinator prior to your Confirmed Barn Hire Date.

Our standard wedding food is priced at £85 per adult this includes;

  • a choice of three canapés (average of 6 per person),
  • bread and butter on the tables,
  • a starter or pudding,
  • a main course (either plated or feast-style, with sides),
  • tea and coffee
  • evening food

Additional courses (starter or pudding) are available at £15 per person, , and must be purchased for all guests attending.

Additional canapés are available at £4 per person, and must be purchased for all adult guests attending.

Additional evening guests are charged at £15 per person for evening food, with the exception of the chip butty evening food option which is charged at £10 per person.

Vegetarian and Vegan options are charged at £72.50 per adult. Please note there is an extended vegetarian menu – should you wish to see this please ask a member of the team.

Children aged under 12 are charged at £30 per person.

All prices are inclusive of VAT.

We ask that the same food is served to every guest, with the exception of dietary requirements.

We cater for all dietaries requirements and can amend dishes to suit intolerance such as gluten free and lactose free.

Please be advised that nuts (including tree nuts like almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc.) may be used from time to time in our kitchen and in the preparation of various foods. Even with careful preparation, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment due to the risk of cross-contamination (the accidental transfer of nut proteins to other surfaces or foods). 

Menus will be discussed with you throughout your planning process, and we encourage you to join us at one of our seasonal Tasting Evenings to sample the food available at the time of year you are getting married. Please note our seasonal menus are:

  • Spring: for weddings and events in March, April and May
  • Summer: for weddings and events in June, July and August
  • Autumn: for weddings and events in September, October and November
  • Winter: for weddings in December, January and February

Final food choices will be required three months before your wedding, and final numbers due two months before. After this, no further changes can be made.

For weddings on either a Classic Hire or One Day Hire, as they are longer dates, we ask that you have a Wedding Breakfast; and then offer something smaller in the evening as guests get hungry with so much dancing! It is important to have the Wedding Breakfast to help structure the day, give guests a chance to sit down, and also to fill them up ahead of the evening reception.

For Twilight weddings you can choose from our evening food options.

Please note that we do not offer buffets.

All menus are designed in collaboration with James Ramsden, a highly successful chef and restaurateur, cookbook author, food writer, podcaster and proud Yorkshireman.

Please note that menus are subject to change from time to time, however food choices agreed three months before your wedding will not be changed.

 

Payment terms:

At Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. you hold a wedding date provisionally for up to two weeks before confirming your date. At the end of the two-week provisional period you pay your Barn Hire Booking Fee to Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd., and thus, in line with Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd., the following payments are expected to The Peckish Kitchen:

For weddings/events booked within eight months of the Confirmed Barn Hire Date at Thirsk Lodge Barns the following payment structure is in place:

  • A non-refundable Barn Hire Booking Fee is due to secure your Confirmed Barn Hire Date with Thirsk Lodge Barns, before the two-week provisional booking period is finished. This Barn Hire Booking Fee is 50% of the Barn Hire Fee. For The Peckish Kitchen a £1,000 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • The final 50% Barn Hire Fee is due three months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date. For The Peckish Kitchen a £1,000 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Final payments for The Peckish Kitchen is due two months before your Confirmed Barn Hire Date.

For weddings with a Confirmed Barn Hire Date which falls within eight months to eighteen months of the date booked, the following payment structure is in place:

  • A non-refundable Barn Hire Booking Fee is due to secure your Confirmed Barn Hire Date before the two-week provisional booking period is finished. The Barn Hire Booking Fee is 25% of the Barn Hire Fee. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Eight months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 50% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Three months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; the final 25% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Final payments for The Peckish Kitchen is due two months before your Confirmed Barn Hire Date.

For weddings with a Confirmed Barn Hire Date which falls within eighteen months to two years of the date booked, the following payment structure is in place:

  • A non-refundable Barn Hire Booking Fee is due to secure your Confirmed Barn Hire Date before the two-week provisional booking period is finished. The Barn Hire Booking Fee is 25% of the Barn Hire Fee. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Fifteen months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 25% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Eight months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 25% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Three months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; the final 25% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Final payments for The Peckish Kitchen is due two months before your Confirmed Barn Hire Date.

 

For weddings with a Confirmed Barn Hire Date over two years of the date booked, the following payment structure is in place:

  • A non-refundable Barn Hire Booking Fee is due to secure your Confirmed Barn Hire Date before the two-week provisional booking period is finished. The Barn Hire Booking Fee is 20% of the Barn Hire Fee. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Twenty-four months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 20% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. Once paid, this is non-refundable. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Fifteen months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 20% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. Once paid, this is non-refundable. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Eight months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; a further 20% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. Once paid, this is non-refundable. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Three months before the Confirmed Barn Hire Date; the final 20% of the Barn Hire Fee is to be paid. Once paid, this is non-refundable. For The Peckish Kitchen a £500 payment is due at this time. Once paid, this is non-refundable.
  • Final payments for The Peckish Kitchen is due two months before your Confirmed Barn Hire Date.

 

You are welcome to pay towards any outstanding payments in more frequent, smaller instalments should you wish.

All final payments towards the Confirmed Barn Hire Date and any drinks or additional extras with Thirsk Lodge Barns, as well as food with The Peckish Kitchen must be paid in full at least eight weeks prior to the Confirmed Barn Hire Date or you will be subject to a late payment fee of £150.

As soon as your booking is confirmed with a receipt invoice emailed by us, you will have entered into a binding contract with Thirsk Lodge Barns Limited and The Peckish Kitchen Ltd.

We host a minimum of 40 day adult guests at weddings on a Monday – Wednesday in Novembers, Decembers and Januarys, and a minimum of 60 day adult guests at weddings on Monday – Wednesday between February – October. Surcharges of £100 per person apply if your final guest count is below minimum numbers.

We have a minimum guest number of 60 day adult guests at weddings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in Novembers, Decembers and Januarys, and a minimum of 80 day adult guests at weddings on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays between February – October. Surcharges of £100 per person apply if your final guest count is below minimum numbers.
