If you wish to get married on site, our majestic Main Barn is licensed for civil ceremonies.
A wall of fairy lights behind the oak ceremony table and iron hoops which can be dressed by your florist to hang above you, look incredible for those all important photos.
At the opposite end of the Main Barn, two grand wooden doors open from our VIP room into the aisle, to give you the perfect entrance ahead of one of the most memorable moments of your life.
Large windows overlook fields of grass and wild flowers and a mezzanine level which is perfect for readers/singers during your ceremony, or for your photographer to capture a group photo from!
Our Main Barn can seat up to 140 guests in total for your ceremony however, this would include seating around 20 guests on the mezzanine.
In the evening, the Main Barn is transformed into a space for your evening reception. Your band or DJ can arrive and set up without any disruption to the flow of your day. The wall of fairy lights makes the perfect backdrop for them, and your First Dance.
We have a large glitter ball that can be hired and hung in the middle of the iron hoop, which really adds to the party vibe!
Our Bar and Courtyard make the perfect setting for your drinks reception no matter what the British weather decides to do on your special day.
The stunning Bar has a whole wall that opens out on the Courtyard. With exposed beams and pillars, but a modern copper topped bar – the space still captures the old features of the Barns, but with a more modern twist!
We have a large selection of drinks for your reception, and can help you put a bespoke package together to suit your taste and budget.
With open trusses, a large skylight and a beautiful oak floor, our stunning Dining Room suits either round tables or long trestle tables – both of which are included in your Barn Hire. Our stunning Dining Room can comfortably seat up to 140 guests, but is also snug enough to accommodate smaller weddings.
There is a separate bar in here to serve your guests during the wedding breakfast, and the room has views overlooking the fields and wild meadow.
From January 2027, all catering at Thirsk Lodge Barns will be with our new in-house catering team.
Our ethos is to use local produce for delicious farm to fork feasting! Imagine fun, seasonal canapés, sharing British-tapas styled starters, mains featuring feast sharing boards and sides to be passed among friends around the table – keeping the vibe more ‘fun dining’ than ‘formal dining’!
We will grow as much as possible on the farm that surrounds Thirsk Lodge Barns, and offer a great choice from delicious seasonal menus for the ultimate wedding dining experience. Housing a 200 year old Spanish olive tree, our courtyard has a gorgeous Mediterranean feel to it. It is sheltered and gets the sun all day long, making it the perfect place for photos, drinks or a breath of fresh air.
We offer large outdoor games and fire pits (bring sparklers and marshmallows!), and there is an open stable area with heaters for some outdoor seating.
This is a snug room with soft furniture; it is a great escape for kids to watch TV or for your guests to relax in.
With stunning views of the meadow, the Wheelhouse is set just off the Main Barn and is a great escape for those guests wanting a breather from the dancing!
This is a private room for the bridal couple; a place to meet the registrar before you get married (if you choose to get married on site) and then somewhere to keep a change of shoes, bag of make up or to take 5 from the busy day!
