Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
As a wedding venue we are lucky to witness love in all forms. Whilst it saddens us that this needs to be a question at all, we are aware that there is still a shocking amount of injustice and inequality in the world. Thirsk Lodge Barns welcomes every person regardless of gender, ethnicities, races, sexualities and more.
When can we come?
We try our best to be flexible when finding a time for you to view! We can do private viewings most weekdays between 9am and 5pm, selected Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons.
Please note viewings are by appointment only.
Can we bring our families?
Of course, planning a wedding is a big deal and its lovely to include those closest to you in your decision making! We do advise not coming in a group larger than 6 to ensure you get the best experience.
How long does a private viewing last?
Your tour of the venue will last around 45 minutes. This can vary depending on the amount of questions you may have and if the accommodation is available to view. Please note the accommodation will not be available if we have a bridal party onsite.
Will the venue be dressed for a wedding?
This all depends on when you come, we are a busy venue and host many different events throughout the week. If you would like to see the venue ‘wedding ready’ then perhaps book into one of our Viewing Evenings where we will have the Ceremony Barn and Dining Room set up.
Can we see the accommodation?
Do we need to bring anything with us?
You don’t need to bring anything with you and the wedding coordinator showing you around will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Can our dog come to the viewing?
Whilst we allow dogs to attend for a short period of time on your wedding day, they are not allowed to attend viewings.
Can we take photos?
Of course, you can take as many photos and videos as you like! We only ask that if you are viewing on another couples set up or wedding day that you do not share any images on social media.
Can we cancel our viewing?
If you can no longer make your viewing then please do let us know. We have lots of couples hoping to view the venue and we will be able to fill the slot.

Ou postcode is YO7 4DB however this postcode is the same for a lot of neighbouring properties so once you are on Newsham Road please look out for the signs for our ‘Main Entrance’.
