31 Oct Meet our latest (and tastiest) additions!!

We’re thrilled to share some delicious new updates…
Here at Thirsk Lodge Barns, we’re always on the lookout for ways to make your wedding day that little bit more special. From the very beginning, Will and Letty built TLB with a love for the land and a passion for supporting the community around us. As farmers-turned-venue-owners, they know the value of small businesses, hand-crafted produce, and a good glass of something Yorkshire-born and bred.
We’ve teamed up with the incredible Cooper King Distillery, a pioneering net-zero, sustainable distillery just down the road from us at Thirsk Lodge Barns. Known for their environmentally conscious ethos, locally sourced ingredients, and impeccable craftsmanship, Cooper King are the perfect match for us and now we’ve got something truly special to show for it.

Say hello to our very own range of Thirsk Lodge Barns spirits:
- Yorkshire Dry Gin: Our Dry Yorkshire Gin offers a well-balanced floral and spice profile, featuring notes of cardamom, lemongrass, and local honey. It’s perfect served with tonic and rosemary, or it makes a great addition to cocktails.
- Black Cardamom Vodka: This unique spirit is the world’s only black cardamom vodka, offering a smooth and refreshing taste with a hint of smoke. Best served with a tonic and a slice of lime or fresh mint, or enjoy it in our strawberry lemonade coming to the bar in Spring.
- Yorkshire Whisky: This outstanding, hand-made single malt Yorkshire whisky focuses on flavour and provenance, created by a small team that values craftsmanship. It’s matured in a unique combination of ex-dark-fired bourbon casks and ex-red wine NEOC casks, then finished in ex-bourbon barrels, providing a vibrant and evocative dram. As England’s first producer of net-zero energy whisky, its creation is a testament to six years of dedication to sustainability, utilising NASA technology paint and renewable energy-powered stills. If you like an Old Fashioned, you will like our Yorkshire Old Fashioned coming to the bars this Winter.
- Berry & Basil Gin Liqueur: This luxurious and fruity gin liqueur is crafted with ripe Yorkshire raspberries coming. From Spilman’s farm, fresh basil, and juniper. It’s made with all-natural ingredients, containing no preservatives or colourings, just plenty of fruit. Enjoy it in our Raspberry Tart or Berry Spritz at the barns already or topped with sparkling wine for a delicious and refreshening taste.

All our TLB spirits are lovingly made with Yorkshire-grown botanicals; these handcrafted tipples bring something truly unique to our bar. Whether you’re sipping one during cocktail hour or dancing the night away with a signature serve, you’ll be raising a glass to something local and sustainable.
The team have been working hard crafting new cocktails for the bar. Look out for some seasonal cocktails coming soon to TLB; we can’t wait for you to try them.

Our other lovely local suppliers…
Of course, we couldn’t stop there. We’ve long been fans of Firth & Co, our wonderful local wine merchant who sources incredible bottles from small vineyards around the world. Their knowledge, taste, and personal touch have made them firm favourites with our couples and our team!
The local Thirsk Greengrocer have been providing the fruit we use at The Barns since day one. Their strawberries and raspberries always taste the best!
Our local signwriter, Robin from Alpha signs, beautifully handcrafts all of the signage for our estate to keep us looking sharp!
And last, but by no means least, the freshest addition to our drinks list is Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice. A small, family-run business, they hand-press the juiciest Yorkshire apples into what we believe is the best apple juice around. You can find a nice bottle tucked away in the fridge at the farmhouse and we also stock this behind the bar for you and your guests to enjoy when you visit the barns.

At Thirsk Lodge Barns, we’re proud to be part of the local farming and small business community, and we know our couples feel the same. Choosing local isn’t just about great taste (though that certainly helps!); it’s about building something meaningful, supporting real people, and celebrating the best of what Yorkshire has to offer.
So when you sip your gin and tonic, or enjoy a glass of apple juice in the sunshine, know that you’re part of something bigger: a celebration of community, craft, and countryside.
