Introduction and references
To make it easier to read these Terms and Conditions, there are a number of definitions which we use:
When you make a booking through us you are confirming that you, the Hirer, and each guest understands, agrees, and accepts these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Booking, Payment and Balance
1.1 All prices include VAT.
1.2 There is a two-night minimum stay.
1.3 Check in is from 5pm on the day of arrival and you must have vacated the Property by 11am on the day of departure. If check in can be earlier, we will let you know.
1.4 A non-refundable booking fee of £350 is required to secure a booking, this applies to all bookings. No bookings are valid until the booking fee has been received.
1.5 As soon as your booking fee is paid, you will receive a receipt emailed by Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd., and this enters you into a binding contract with Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd.
1.6 Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. reserves the right to cancel your booking and re-let the Accommodation where any payment due is more than 7 days’ late. In these circumstances the Hirer will not be entitled to any refund.
1.7 Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under 18 years of age.
1.8 Any payments made are non-refundable.
2.1 If, for any reason, you choose to cancel the booking, immediate notification to Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd is required.
2.2 All payments made will be retained by Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd.
2.3 If Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. need to cancel your booking for any reason, all payments will be refunded. If Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. need to cancel within two months of your Booking Date, we will find alternatively accommodation for the guests due to stay at Woodhill Grange.
3. Responsibilities of the Hirer
3.1 The number of persons using the Accommodation at any time must not exceed the maximum number of 8 persons.
3.2 All persons must act responsibility and carefully whilst at the Property, abiding by any house rules and leave the property, and all furniture, fixtures, and fittings in the same state of repair and condition as at the start of their stay.
3.3 The Hirer must report to Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd any damage or breakages made during the stay.
3.4 The Hirer must not smoke inside the Property or allow anyone else to smoke inside the Property.
3.5 The Hirer must at all times comply with any applicable laws and local or Government guidance and ensure that no guests do anything which is illegal, or may cause damage, noise, anti-social behaviour, or disturbance.
3.6 The Hirer must ensure they and any guests must not enter the Property before the stated arrival date and time and will leave the Property before the stated departure date and time.
3.7 The Hirer must treat people with respect and not act in a way which is abusive, violent, destructive, menacing, or harassing towards any member of the Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd team or member of the community where the Property is situated. Please note that there are neighbouring properties within a short distance of Woodhill Grange and we ask that you please keep noise down at the property after 10pm.
3.8 The Hirer must ensure to secure the Property (including all windows and doors) whenever leaving.
4.1 Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. reserves the right to invoice the Hirer to cover any costs for rectifying any damages caused by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act of the Hirer to the Property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the Hirer has departed Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. reserves the right to send an invoice for the amount to the registered email address.
4.2 The Company will, however, make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs incurring to the Hirer at a minimum.
4.3 Failure to pay for any damages will result in legal action.
5. Safety and Liability
5.1 You are responsible for any breakages or damage at Woodhill Grange, whether to the property or to any chattels therein, or theft of any items from the Property by you or any guest of yours.
5.2 Whilst we do not seek to limit or exclude our liability in respect of death or personal injury resulting from our proven negligence, we shall be liable to you only for any loss or damage that you suffer if the same has arisen directly from our act, neglect, or default. Under no circumstances shall we be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any kind whatsoever.
5.3 For the comfort and safety of you and your guests, you will understand that we prohibit smoking in any internal area of the Property. This includes the use of vape devices.
5.4 You should be aware that due to the age and features of the Property there are numerous hazards associated with uneven and slippery surfaces etc. Extra care must be taken by all concerned, and in particular children and infants must be supervised at all times.
5.5 It is the responsibility of the Hirer to read and understand the Emergency Evacuation Procedure which must be adhered to in the event of fire.
6.1 Woodhill Grange is dog friendly, there is an additional charge of £20 per dog.
6.2 Any dogs left unattended in the Property must be left enclosed in the Laundry/’Dog Room’.
6.3 Dogs are not permitted upstairs or on the furniture.
6.4 Any fouling must be cleared up without delay, including within the grounds.
6.5 Dog owners must ensure that their pets are free from parasites and fleas before they occupy the Property. Failure to do so may incur subsequent charges.
6.6 You will be liable for any damage caused by any guests’ dogs. Any damage must be reported to Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. immediately.
6.7 If these terms are broken, any damages and/or additional cleaning needed will be charged to the Hirer.
6.8 Please note that we do not provide dog beds, bowls, or other pet accessories.
7. Parking and Transport
7.1 Woodhill Grange has ample parking for the number of guests staying.
7.2 Cars are left at owners own risk.
7.3 Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd will provide transport for 8 persons from Thirsk Lodge Barns to Woodhill Grange at 00.00hrs on the evening of the event they are attending. All other transport must be arranged by the Hirer.
8.1 If you have any complaint concerning the Property, the matter should be taken up with a member of the Thirsk Lodge Barns Ltd. team as soon as possible so they can do their best to resolve the issue. It is important to raise any complaint whilst you are still at the Property.
